bangkok
i went and i'm back. we(me,bas,don and tong) took airasia and stayed in a hostel caused its very ex to stay to take other commercial flights and the hostel was to save money.
things that happened on departing day:
1.the flight was deplayed for the 2nd time when we reach changi airport.
2.long queue to wait for the crew to check us in and give us the boarding pass which was jus a piece of written paper.
3.30 mins wait again at the holding area for the crew and plane to arrive. again late.
4.lights on plane werent off during the flight making it diff to sleep.
5.reach bangkok late and so unfortunately took a cab driven by a lady going at only 90 tops, when the rest fo the world was zooming at 110 at least.
6.reach the hostel in shock of how small the place was.
7.another shock when the bed was harder than tatami mat.
8.went out the streets for food, surprised(didnt expect to be this near) patpong night market was only across the st.
9.had satay.
10.shop around at patpong.
day 1:
1.took train to chatukchat weekend market.
2.had breakfast which was just ba cor me.
3.walk the market until we were lost inside.
4.had lunch.
5.walked and shop until we were lost again.
6.tong wanted to shit so we went to the park toilet, he didnt shit cause he said it was a turnoff inside, me and bas sat on the grass like the other thais in the park to wait for tong.
7.walked again and had juice on a small cafe, suddenly some athem is broadcast and everyone stood up and faced one direction. we just sat still on our bench not knowing what to do better.
8.left the place after getting lost too many times.
9.went chinatown to have dinner, kanna 'robert' by the uncle there. had bird's nest and shark's fin.
10.walk the streets to find 'theive's market' but its a day market.
11.took tut-tut back to patpong for a walk.
12.don kanna 'robert' in one of the shops, ask me to help him negotiate his money back. in the end manage to salvage some by paying a bit more for another berms pus his jeans. didnt even thank me(ungrateful ass)
day 2:
1.wake up and took cab to MBK.
2.had brunch at their food court.
3.shop till mad again.
4.had early dinner at food court again.
5.shop again and finished walking most the shops.
6.walk the other malls around the area.
7.found many small shops like bugis street.
8.ate at A&W, tong wanted to 'stun' the mug but didnt in the end.thought he was going to do it.
9.walked somemore and headed back.
day 3:
1.went to find some temple cause tong wanted to view some.
2.the receptionist at the hostel dont know if there's one nearby but we remember there's one only 2 mrt stops away.wth.
3.went to the nearby temple, tong started snapping photos and think he went in the pray with don, while me and bas stood outside.
4.the usher at the temple told us there's a market nearby and we walked over to ahve our breakfast.
5.reached the market, everything was in thai and we cant read any. tong attempted to communicate with one lady and she showed us english menus.
6.my nose bled from 'heatiness' while eating. think never drink enough water since we had to buy them everyday.troublesome.
7.took cab to another temple only to find need to pay entrance fee, and its quite small. we left.
8.took cab to another temple somewhere far.near the grand palace.the temple was huge.paid 20baht to explore the place. saw our biology teacher from st. andrew's. took like 5 mins before we realised who she was.
9.tong wanted to walk the grand palace or some other temple but don keep asking him if he needs to see so many temples.
10.went to MBK area again.
11.don cut his hair, while i go shit at a stylo toilet in Siam Centre.
12.me,bas and tong walked the place awhile before heading back to the streets to find don.
13.shop and walked around the area again, and again, and again until no where to walk.
14.went to have dinner at heineken beer park outside the world trade centre.
15.not so filling dinner with 2 jugs of beer, tong even wanted to order one barrel cause it was very cheap.
16.watch some performances and don didnt want to leave and many people were staring at us cause our table was empty except for 2 glasses of beer.
17.ordered calamarie but finish fast also.told don we leave after the next song then me and bas went toilet.
18.came back and he was still at the table with tong, me and bas waited outside cause the song was ending. but still didnt leave after the song ended. left finally saying 'concert havent end, where got leave'
19.went to suan lum night market, walked 2 of the squares then went back.
going home:
1.took cab to MBK for don to change his berms. some idoit tried to con us to go somewhere us by telling us MBK dont open till 1130 when we were there at 945.
2.he did a show with the tut-tut driver to show he negotiate the price to 20baht for us to talke us to this 'Siam City'
3.driver dropped us near MBK area to change currency, it was a good money changer with wonderful rates.
4.paid the driver off with 20baht cause we saw people having breakfast at MBK mcdonald's.
5.walked backed and had Mc breakfast and tong flirted with the cashier.
6.went to change the berms only to hear 'no' from the owner cause its bad omen to return goods before they sell anything.
7.went to buy tong's shoes at nearby place, bought dunkin' donuts for home and had coffee there.
8.went to change the berms, only to change to one belt buckle and one polo.
9.got back to pick up our bags and to the airport.
10.sat in a cab that drives super fast and have very fast pick up speed.
11.again waited at the airport.
12.check in and had lunch at thai airways resturant
13.boarded and slept on the way home.
*there were many other interesting things that happened, just that its too long to write everything down. man i am lazy.
